Obituary for Lester Damrell

Lester Damrell, 75, of Berea, died Friday, July 27, 2018 at U.K. Hospital in Lexington. He was a Sand Gap native born May 28, 1943, son of the late William and Nannie Templeton Damrell. Lester was a U. S. Army veteran, retired Berea Hospital Geriatric Technician with over 30 years of service, member of The Holy Sanctuary Church at Crestview and had been a life-long resident of the Berea area.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lorene Ramey Damrell; 3 children, Lester Damrell, Jr., William Damrell (Vickie), Riva Banks; 5 siblings, James Damrell, Bill Damrell, Vola Poe (Briston), Frances Vaughn, Myrtle French (Paul); 9 grandchildren, Shconnda, Ashley, Natasha, Shenna, Shane, Justin, Amber, Jeremy, Robbie; 16 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and church family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Millard Damrell, Shadie Damrell, Mary Allen, Lola Gadd.

Funeral Service 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at The Holy Sanctuary Church with Pastor Harold Eads and Bro. Mark Adams officiating. Military Honors following the funeral service. Burial will follow in Davis-Witt Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Banks, Jeremy Damrell, John Brock, Andy Coffey, Robby Banks, Ricky Epperson. Visitation 6:00 – 9:00 PM Monday at the church.
