Obituary for Glen Combs

Glen Combs, 82, of Paint Lick, died Friday, February 24, 2017 at U.K. Hospital in Lexington following a long illness. He was a Cartersville, Kentucky native born January 10, 1935, son of the late Enos and Virginia Conn Combs, U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War (1952 - 1956) serving in the fire and crash rescue unit, former service station owner and operator. Glen was a member of the Baptist Faith, an Honorable Kentucky Colonel, member of American Legion Post #50, and had served as a Special Deputy under Sheriff Dude Cochran. He loved his family, enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Alma Lunsford Combs; 3 children, Steve Combs, Ozzie (Becca) Combs, Scotti (Gary) Centers; 1 sister, Shirley Combs Burns; 8 grandchildren, Whitney Combs, Dustin Wolfe, Stevi Sweet, Josh Centers, Maria Centers, Joe Collins, Landon Combs and Zolee Combs; 7 great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Kennedy, Mackenzie, Addison, Raelyn, Colten and Isaiah; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 6 siblings, Harold Combs, Ronnie 'Ozz' Combs, J. B. Combs, Ruth Hacker, Gertrude Guinn and baby sister Ruby Mae Combs.

Funeral Service 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 1, 2017 with Bro. Lee Abney officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery at 2:30 pm. Visitation 6:00 - 9:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dustin Wolfe, Joshua Centers, Landon Combs, Joe Collins and nephews, Wendell Combs, Dale Combs, Gary Combs, Kevin Burns. Honorary Pallbearers will be Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
