Obituary for David Lee Williams

David Lee Williams, 70, passed from this life to more life on January 20, 2017. He was born on April 7, 1946 in Berea, Kentucky to Casper Williams and Mary Meade Williams Huff. He became a Christian at the age of seven and loved Jesus his whole life. He attended Berea High School and was the Salutatorian of his class. He played every sport in high school and was athletic most of his life. David graduated from Eastern Kentucky University (Class of 1968) and majored in Political Science. He spent four years in the Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. He was a newscaster and reporter and in sales at Channel 27 News. He obtained a law degree at the University of Kentucky (Class of 1975) and was an attorney for over twenty-five years. David was married to Gwanetta Williams. He was incredibly out-going; he never met a stranger. He loved his family dearly. David celebrated the holidays (especially the 4th of July, Halloween, and Christmas) in an over-the-top manner that his family loved. He enjoyed acting, singing, playing the guitar, reading the Bible, and talking and debating about anything and everything. When he gave a speech, a toast, a sermon, a monologue, or a closing argument, he held the audience in the palm of his hand.

He was preceded in death by his parents Casper Williams and Mary Meade Williams Huff; 1 grandson, Mason Rice; 3 siblings, Carlo Williams, Annabel Wyatt, and Paul Williams. Left to honor David, and remember his life and love are his wife, Gwan Williams; his children, Stefanie Williams Poulin (Steve), Allison Williams, Angela Williams Gorrell (Paul), and Jennifer Lynn Olney (Rob); his siblings, Nina Locker, Boyd Williams, and Brenda Moss (Gerald); his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, as well as many other family members and friends.

A Celebration of David's Life will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Reppert Funeral Home in Berea. The visitation is at 12:00 noon and the service is at 1:00 pm.
